Warm Up A White Room With Color

When it comes to home decor, you can’t go wrong with white. Living rooms, bedrooms and even kitchens look light, fresh and clean when they’re decorated in this classic hue. And while we always approve of a bright white room, we think adding some color will excite the eye and spice things up. But there’s no need to break out the paint cans or buy all new furniture. Use these tips to warm up a white room with color:

1. Bring in one large piece of vibrant artwork. Place it on a focal wall such as above a sofa, behind your bed or above the fireplace.

2. Add some accent furniture in haute hues. Think colorful ottoman furniture, end tables, occasional chairs or a trunk.

3. Add some softness with pink, lavender or neutral-hued throw pillows and accessories. Make sure there are always fresh, colorful flowers in a vase or two. Accessorize with colored candles.

4. Let the light in! Make sure your curtains allow plenty of sunlight inside and hang mirrors on the walls to reflect the light.

5. Add a large printed area rug to the room for some colorful contrast.
